Dr. Vespa is the director of the Neurocritical Care program at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. He has clinical and research interests in traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, status epilepticus, stroke and coma. Dr. Vespa has pioneered the role of continuous brain monitoring, studies of brain metabolism, stereotactic treatment of brain hemorrhage and robotic telepresence in the neurointensive care unit. He has published over 80 articles and is an editorial board member of Critical Care Medicine, Neurocritical Care, and Surgical Neurology. Dr. Vespa is funded to do cutting-edge research by the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense and the State of California.
